Acoustic Hot Tuna

Rock and Roll Hall alumnus, Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady have been performing together for the past 50 years. After creating the soundtrack of the '60s and originating from The Triumphs and Jefferson Airplane, the duo formed the iconic blues-roots band Hot Tuna.
Throughout the '90s, the band alternated between acoustic and electric styles. The two Sweetwater albums were predominantly acoustic sets with guests Bob Weir from the Grateful Dead, singer Maria Muldaur, and ex-Rod Stewart, Jefferson Starship… Show more keyboards player Pete Sears; the latter was to join the group on a permanent basis during the decade. The 1997 release Live in Japan was in many ways reminiscent of the very first Hot Tuna album, having a minimalistic sound and being recorded live at a tiny venue. Through two decades of acoustic and electric concerts, and recording more than two dozen albums, the band released As Steady As She Goes (2011), their first studio album in 20 years.
