I just moved here from Los Angeles about 2 months ago. It may not be fair to compare Uchi's to chains like "Benihana's" and/or "Ron of Japan" but they have no problem charging "big city" prices either. Mind you, the food was good - not great - not excellent - BUT BOOD. The ambience was nothing exciting and the only thing that made up for the high price was the excellent service the staff provided. These guys were friendly and very courteous to the few people there on Christmas Day. I hope they do survice because the RGV needs variety in their food and Uchi's can do the job - Let's get serious and invest in making this place reflect the higher prices on the menu. Make this place a unique experience - not just the food but the actual location should reflect the right vibe and mood...
