Celebrating poet Rosemary Ybarra-Garcia's new book, House of Song

The book delights with candid snapshots of Latino immigrants working, dancing and living in the Imperial and San Joaquin Valleys of California. Through her personal observations and skillfully crafted poems the writer celebrates and reveals immigrant life in America. The people, humble and hard-working, live in tandem with nature and god. The title refers to the place where Aztec people shared poetry and music. They referred to poetry as flower and song, or in xochitl in cuicatl (flor y canto).
