HackensackUMC offers a two-hour class to introduce the basics of breastfeeding and to prepare the expectant parents for a healthy and happy breastfeeding relationship with their baby. It is recommended to take this class during the eighth month of pregnancy. Topics includude: advantages and benefits of breastfeeding; getting started and building confidence; role of father and significant other; common concerns, discomforts and management; and lactation support resources.
