Molly Abraham, Detrpot News Restaurant Critic: The first Thai restauran in Grosse Pointe is a collaboration between Tom Lee and Naly Yang, the T.N. of the title, and it has been very well received. There isn't a restaurant family in the area with more experience than this one. Various family members have been a major influence on Thai cuisine across the metro area, with such restaurants as Sy Thai in Birmingham and St. Clair Shores, and Thai Cafe and Thai on Main in Royal Oak, among others. \nTheir Grosse Pointe location is a meticulously decorated room in rich shades of burnt orange, deep red and gold under drum-shaped white lamps, tiny ones hanging over a row of booths, outsized ones in the center of the room above the polished wood tables and chairs.\n A window wall framed by red-and-gold brocade draperies caught up with silk tassels offers a view of the passing parade, including a sidewalk cafe.\n The menu includes most of the traditional Thai dishes from chicken satay with peanut and cucumber sauce and the resonant lemongrass soup called tom yum to an array of noodle dishes, stir-fries and red and green curries as well as crawfish fried rice, a simple grilled chicken salad, and a dish called "two friends," grilled lobster tails with shrimp, mushrooms, bamboo shoots and snow peas. Newly added is a second room which houses a sushi bar.
