Greene Street Club

Greene Street Club was established in October of 2001 where it was intended to be a live venue featuring local and regional bands. In looking at the economic development of downtown Greensboro, Greene Street Club paved the way as one of the original three entertainment venues downtown. After converting from Triad Bank in 2001, Greene Street quickly established itself as a formal and informal meeting area for business and social gatherings.

Greene Street’s economic impact has played a major role in the evolution of downtown Greensboro. The club itself employs around 40 people. This vertical structure is broken up into a number of divisions. This includes four levels of higher management; operating manager, bar manager, head of security, and talent buyer. Under this tear lie the bartenders, security personnel, door staff, DJs, bands and other forms of entertainment, as well as sound and lighting personnel.

Since 2001, Greene Street Club has been able to host 467 people through its first two floors. Recently, in 2006, Greene Street increased its capacity by building a double story rooftop. This rooftop was the first of its kind in the triad, hosting 303 people, and a view that looks over the entire Greensboro skyline. With its capacity just under 800 people, Greene Street Club is one of the largest night life venues in the triad area. In addition to a double story rooftop, the club has six bars, a large dance floor, and a stage.

Beyond big bands and the roof, Greene Street Club is known for one thing; college night on Thursday. Thursday nights at Greene Street have been the largest attended club event in the Triad area, with continuous record breaking nights.
