Doris Larson
Doris has always had an interest in developing her artistic abilities but life as a wife, mother, and elementary school teacher made this pursuit difficult. In retirement, she has been able to pursue her art with passion. Through her studies, instructors Loretta Sailors, David Davis, Frank Webb, Kathleen Conover, Edie Jopic, and Jess Jones have been influential… Show more resources guiding her artistic talents. Initially working in watercolor, her interest in textures led her working in mixed media and collage. Doris has been making clothes since she was in her early teens and now most of her current work is fabric art.

“Doing art somehow connects the creative force within me to the awesomeness of creation, in all its complexity and variety," says Doris. "I find art to be compelling, demanding, all-consuming, often satisfying, and frequently it keeps me awake at night!”

Lars Larson
Lars has been turning wood since his retirement in 2003. His work has been juried into Celebration of the Arts, West Michigan Regional Arts Exhibition and Festival. In addition, his wood turnings have been displayed in the Battle Creek Fine Arts Center and the Carnegie Center for the Arts in Three Rivers Michigan. Lars has taken wood turning courses from national and world famous wood turners: David Elsworth, Jimmy Clews, Al Stirt, Mark Gardner and Michel Mack. Lars is a member of the American Association of Woodturners and founding member of the Grand River Wood Turners Guild.

All exhibits will be open for public viewing during regular hours of operation (Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.) and designated evening hours.
