Experience the dramatic and colorful music and poetry of Carmina Burana performed by the JSO and the Evergreen Chorale. Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana is one of the most popular choral works ever composed. The piece features the widely popular O Fortuna and 24 short poems/compositions which contemplate the joy and despair caused by the excesses in life such as drinking, gambling and gluttony as well as the effects of fate on our lives. Sung in Latin, its style is similar to a Gregorian chant.
