Only in the Southland: An Italian restaurant with a Moroccan owner and an unvarying soundtrack of Gypsy Kings music. That's Notte Luna, a place of mauve walls, Art Deco posters and tables covered with butcher paper, located in an alley just east of Brand Boulevard in downtown Glendale. On Weds nights there's a live International Band and Mediterranean food, a feast, the night scene at this place was so different than the lunch one..you thought you were someplace completely different and the food was so delicious. Of most restaurants in Glendale, this had the freshest and highest of quality of Mid Eastern food and such portions! Luna Notte features first class food, reasonable prices and a chic bistro style atmosphere complete with a large outdoor patio for warm weather dining. The pastas are all made right in the restaurant and the sauces are among the best. Seafood lovers rave about the Seafood Pescatore - heaped with calamari, clams and baby shrimp. The Fettuccini Con Gamberi with tiger shrimp in an alfredo sauce and Petto di Pollo - chicken breast with a lemon sauce are other favorites. Diners who like to eat outdoors will love Notte Luna's quiet and secluded garden patio (a rarity in Glendale), which is bathed in warm lighting, surrounded by planter boxes and an awning to keep guests sheltered from the elements. Notte Luna pays attention to even the minutest details to make the dining experience even more enjoyable. For instance, heat lamps have been specially engineered to radiate warmth evenly throughout the patio instead of roasting one.
