"Going Places" - New Exhibit at the Harbor History Museum
Sunday, Feb 19, 2012 10:00a
to
5:00p
Harbor History Museum
Gig Harbor,
WA
Visitors will be transported to a time where carriages ruled the road. These forerunners of automobiles were absolutely essential to American life in the 1800s. Carriages came in an amazing assortment of shapes and sizes; from the buckboard phaeton to the sidebar buggy.
The exhibition covers a broad range of questions: How were carriages made and repaired? Where were they sold, and who could afford them? Frequent parallels to today’s car culture make Going Places a fascinating journey.
