Moscow Festival Ballet "Coppelia"

Sunday, Jan 3 (2010) 7:00p
Phone: (901) 751-7514
Age Suitability: None Specified

Like The Nutcracker, Coppelia is based on a story by E.T.A. Hoffman, with a score by Leo Delibes, a composer well-respected outside ballet, and toys that come to life and dance. Considered one of the triumphant comic ballets of the 19th century, Coppelia has been called one of the happiest ballets in existence. Its three lively acts are lighthearted renderings of love, loss, mistaken identity, revenge, reconciliation and, to wrap it all up, a wedding with the promise of happily ever after.
Special Event - Coppelia Mother-Daughter Tea Party - January 3, 5:30 p.m.
A perfect pre-ballet event, the Mother-Daughter Tea Party will delight girls ages 10 and under. Party includes tea cookies, lemonade, photos with live Coppelia doll, storytime and much more! Tickets are $8 (includes child and 1 adult). Call 901-751-7500 - tickets are limited.
