Deeper into the Presence: Pictures from Red River Gorge by Michael Winters

The title of Michael Winters' exhibition, "Deeper into the Presence," is taken from a personally inspiring passage by noted Kentucky author Wendell Berry. In the way Berry uses words, Winters uses his camera to create photographs of his favorite place, the picturesque Red River Gorge. Winters' images pay homage to not only his humble ambitions of capturing the sublimity of the Gorge, they also reveal that beauty can often be found in the details.

Michael Winters is Gallery Director of The 930 Art… Show more Center in Louisville. Featured as one of "The 10 Artists to Watch" by The Courier-Journal in 2010, Winters won a Kentucky Arts Council Emerging Artist Award in 2009, and has taught photography at Bellarmine University. Winters received a B.F.A. from the University of Louisville with concentration in photography.
