Contemporary I

Ages: 8 - 11

Explore movement from the inside out - using moods and emotions from both music and dancers, students will learn to move expressively while developing balance and technique. Floor work, turns, improvisation, breathing and posture will be covered, and choreography will range from lighthearted and silly to contemplative and dramatic.

This class will hold an in-class Winter Performance December 13. This class participates in Darlington's Spring Dance Recital, held at a nearby off-site… Show more location. Upon registration each student will be charged a $25 dance recital fee. Each student will receive two recital tickets (additional tickets will be available for purchase at $7/ticket, no limit). Recital costumes will be selected by teachers. Parents will be notified of costume style, size and price in December (estimated price is $35-$60 per costume). More information regarding the Dance Recital, Dress Rehearsal and Photos will be distributed in the Fall. Class Attire: Leotard and tights or tank top and close-fitting pants (no jeans). Shoes: "FootUndeez" or similiar. Hair pulled back off the face and neck in a pony-tail or bun. No jewelry except small stud earrings. Bring a water bottle.
