Naomi Fisher; Lay of the Land Video Instillation
Lay of the Land is the first time the four components of a five year project spanning 2009-2013 by artist Naomi Fisher will be shown in one exhibition. New work created during a residency in the Everglades co-produced by UF will premiere in this exhibition. The viewer is immersed in a full sensory experience that uses the never-ending botanical growth of the tropics as a metaphor for breakdowns and renewals that accompany attempts at social change from a feminist and postcolonial perspective.
