Engineering Excellence Awards

Engineers, business and civic leaders, and state, city and county officials from across Tennessee will gather at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs in Franklin on the evening of Tuesday, March 6, for the 21st Annual Engineering Excellence Awards (EEA) gala sponsored by the American Council of Engineering Companies of Tennessee (ACEC of Tennessee). More than 250 people are expected to attend the event where the winners of the prestigious engineering competition will be announced. Engineering firms… Show more in Nashville, Memphis, Knoxville and Chattanooga are competing for honors with projects that the firms completed in Tennessee, Colorado and Washington. The Grand Iris Award will be presented for the project judged best in the overall competition; a Grand Award will be presented in various entry categories.
Rudy Kalis, sports director at WSMV-TV in Nashville, will be the featured speaker. A sports reporter and anchor at WSMV-TV/Channel 4 since August 1974, Kalis is very familiar with winning recognition for excellence: he has won four Local Emmys for outstanding Sportscast and Commentary; a National Iris Award for outstanding locally produced documentary; been voted the Outstanding TV Sportscaster in Nashville 12 times by the Nashville Scene; and won the Associated Press award for the Outstanding Sportscast in Tennessee 12 times.
