About this TOT:
This training is for those who want to train others in understanding and applying the Kentucky Strengthening Families Protective Factors Framework in their community, organization or program.
The training consists of two dynamic components of learning. Trainers will first participate in the full overview training as attendees and then put on their trainer hats to learn hands-on strategies for adapting this overview training for any audience.Lunch provided.
This training is free of… Show more charge; however attendees are asked to complete 2 free trainings within 12 months in exchange for this TOT and the materials provided.
CEU credit: Where applicable, it is the responsibility of attendees to get this approved for professional development credit if needed. Please feel free to email brooke.gill@ky.gov to request documentation related to your organization approval process.
Benefits of Attending a Training Event
Participants who successfully complete this training are state endorsed Kentucky Strengthening Families Trainers and members of our state learning community of trainers from diverse fields who seek excellence in training around the protective factors framework. Following the training, trainers remain linked to a network of resources and supports.
Who should attend?
Any active Trainer or Training Coordinator who works within a program that serves families and/or children in Kentucky. Please understand this specific training is a skill building training for trainers and not an awareness training for administrators or providers. We appreciate organization discretion in only inviting those individuals who can help us grow the Kentucky Strengthening Families movement through hosting trainings for their program, organization, or community.
About Kentucky Strengthening Families:
Kentucky Strengthening Families is a multi-disciplinary partnership of national, state and local, and private and non-profit organizations dedicated to embedding the 6 research-based Protective Factors into services for children and families. This strength-based, parent driven approach is intended to increase school readiness, promote optimal child development and reduce the likelihood abuse will occur in families. Mission: Kentucky is strengthening families, promoting knowledge and skills, and providing access to resources and support by enhancing protective factors through family, community, and state partnerships.
