Jenny's is family owned and operated; we have been feeding the Chicagoland area for over 50 years. It's only fitting that the Courtright family assemble a group to take over a location so incredibly rich in history. They go back a long, long time to the late 1930's when Carl's mother, Sally Casto Courtright and uncles Sam and Tony Casto, operated Casto's at 89th Street and Loomis. "If walls could talk, we'd have ammo for an academy award winner. Oh yes, the food and drinks were awesome too!" A copy of the original menu is on display... you won't believe it! Other Restaurants have evolved over the years, including Ken's on Western (105th and Western), Ken's Guest House (Oak Lawn), The Summer West (103rd and Western), Lavery's Pub (Palos Heights and Tinley Park), Courtright's (fine, elegant dining in Willow Springs), Jenny's Steak House (Chicago Ridge) and now a second Jenny's location in beautiful downtown Frankfort. Our intentions have always been very simple: provide a comfortable atmosphere where our guests can come to enjoy great food and service without busting their budget. On July 13,2008 My family a total of 5 adults and 3 children ages 6,3& 18mos Had what I would consider a bad dining experience. We were promptly seated and asked our drink selectioins. so far so good. We would not see the server after receiving our drinks for about ten minutes. Our odres were taken and soups were brought out in about ten minutes. Never asked if anyone needed a drink refill. and the empty soup and salad dishes along with empty drink glasses remained on the table for another 20 minutes or so. Still no offer of drink refills. Kids are getting hungry and we asked for the kids meals to be brought out which took about five more minutes for chicken fingers and pasta come on. After about an hour and a half total time we finally received our meals two queen fillets asked for med/well were definitely med/rare. 1 porterhouse requested med/rare was most definitely med/well. I was also a bit upset to find out that the gratuity was also included for parties of 8 or more. 3 of the party were 6 and under. My mother was happy with the lake perch and the kids didnt complain about the pasta but that was about it. The best part of the entire meal was the cream of chicken soup. It came out quick and was hot and delicious. There were only about four other tables being served at the time we were there. So I cant blame poor service on a hectic busy night. I will not visit this particular establishment again. The sercice and food quality does not come close to the other jenny's steak house. I hope for their sake thy make some changes.
