Cold Process Soap Making Class Not Just the Basics

This class is an introduction to the cold process soap making method. This class covers the basics of CP soap making and a little more including coloring and working effectively with fragrances. We will also cover safety,soap chemistry, supplies and equipment, how to work with a soap calculator, the nature of oils and much more. This is a very extensive class that will teach you everything you need to know to begin making your own soap.
The cold process soap method combines oils and a lye solutions… Show more (during a process called saponification ) to make soap. This is a very popular method because you can control what oils and butters will go into your soap and what the end result will be. This class is a partly demonstration and partly interactive class. You will take home 3 cold process soaps and handouts. Please wear a long sleeved shirt and closed shoes to class. Participants must be 18 or over to participate.
Your instructor is Kelley Elkins. Kelley has a natural affinity for anything pure, orangic and natural which is how she got into soap making. Kelley teaches several classes at Lather and Lotions Studio including Cold Process, Advanced Cold Process and the Bath Bomb Blaster Class.
Kelley lives in Indiana with her three children, her dog and pet hamsters.
