Pagliacci and Suor Angelica

Pagliacci, a clown's vengeful act! Pagliacci, the famous play-within-a-play, is the story of a clown who makes others laugh while sobbing inside because his two-timing wife has taken a young lover. His overwhelming jealousy leads to rage, revenge and murder. Kelly Kaduce (last seen on our stage in the title role of Anna Karenina in 2007) once again takes the stage as Sister Angelica and as Nedda in Pagliacci. And if that's not enough, the season is just beginning with this double bill.
Suor Angelica, a nun with a past. Suor Angelica is the tragic tale of a beautiful young aristocrat banished to a nunnery as penance for her teenage pregnancy. Seven years later, upon learning of her son's death, she poisons herself in despair before realizing too late that she's committed a mortal sin.
