Free Tax Return Services by the FMU Tax II Students

For the seventh year, Francis Marion University and the Internal Revenue Service have joined forces to provide free tax return services to area residents, FMU students, staff and faculty. Also assisting this effort is The United Way of Florence. Community members who need tax assistance can receive it from FMU Tax II students in the School of Business computer lab located in Founders Hall room 259 C, through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. Services will be provided on Wednesdays… Show more from 5-9pm through April 10. As required by the VITA program, the students are trained and certified with classes in partnership and corporate tax. They will be supervised under their instructor, Dr. Brad Johnson, FMU School of Business tax professor. In order to have your taxes prepared, you will need to bring your driver's license, social security card, W-2 forms and any other documents needed for filing. There are no income requirements.
