From Attic, Trunk, and Closet: Recent Acquisitions in 19th and 20th Century Costumes and Accessories
This new exhibit spotlights garments from circa 1858 to the late 1940s recently acquired by the museum. Among them are a 1921 satin and lace bridal ensemble with the original veil, headpiece, and shoes; a circa 1858 silk dress worn over a large hooped crinoline; a “Roaring 20s” flapper-style beaded dress; and a 1940s satin negligee set. Men’s fashion is represented, in part, by a pair of Plus Fours. The exhibit can be viewed from 9 to 5 Tuesday-Friday and from 1 to 5 Saturday-Sunday.
