Pop-rock influenced traditional Irish. Four funny, high-spirited, musically-obsessed sisters with the good fortune to have been raised in the magic of County Donegal, Ireland. After starting as Sinead O'Connor's back-up band, the sisters recorded with Peter Gabriel, Joni Mitchell and the Chieftains. Never forgeting their traditional Irish roots, the Orphans draw from a diverse set of influences, from Simon & Garfunkel to REM, with a strong focus on melody-driven songs with pop and rock strains.
