Its theatre series has been augmented with numerous play readings, and workshops for children and adults. Each summer FTC has conducted its Summer Theatre Workshops teaching teamwork, acting, and improvisational skills to hundreds of area children.
FTC is also becoming known as a uniquely intimate venue for concert events. Starting in 2005 with family friendly Jazz and Chamber Music series, FTC has created a popular music series covering all genres, hosting local groups, and national acts such as Lesley Gore, Richie Havens, Josh Kelly, Pat Metheny, Dave Mason, The Subdudes, Marty Balin, and Roomful of Blues, to name a few. With over one hundred concert events to date FTC has created a great deal of excitement in downtown Fairfield.
Dar Williams has become a major force on the New England folk scene. An idiosyncratic songwriter who writes folk songs from a unique, often insightful perspective, Williams takes pains to avoid the coy and the quirky; her songwriting and performing style has been compared to that of Joni Mitchell and Joan Baez, but with a few acidic and at times hilarious twists....
