This annual celebration of women comedians showcases a diverse line-up of nationally and locally known funny females -- African American, Latina, Jewish, lesbian, straight, short, tall, a drag queen... Take a mom for belated Mother’s Day! Funny Girlz was born in 1999 when comic/comedy producer, Lisa Geduldig, began taking inventory of stage time given to women at mainstream comedy clubs. Even in 2007 it is still minimal, though there is certainly no shortage of funny female comics on the circuit.
