Engineer It!

Thursday, Aug 16 (2007) 9:00a to 9:00p
Age Suitability: Kids and up

Introduces the principles of engineering with fun and challenging hands-on activities.

Engineers routinely go through a process of - Think, Build, Test, Do It Again. Now it is your turn! In Engineer It! you will use the same steps as an engineer to design boats, build bridges, windmills, and airplanes and then test their performance in water tanks, shake tables, and wind tunnels. Experiment with your design and test it again to see what happens. You will also discover how gears and pulleys work, operate a cargo crane, and learn about careers in engineering.

Each area in the exhibit has a challenge for you - have fun, experiment, and see how many different ways you come up with to solve the problem. Explore activities in each area of Engineer It! - Wind, Water, and Structures.
