Dir en Grey, one of the most well known Japanese bands worldwide, broke through the language barrier in early 2005 for many Americans during the Family Values Tour. Their straight-edge hard sounds can rattle your brains out, but they're not mindlessly fast or easily beaten down. The sound that Kyo and Kaoru generally try to put in their albums ar ebasically Kyo's best recreation of an angry wild hog in the Arctic Sea. Hard core but still somewhat laid back, Dir en Grey has got to be my all time favorite band and a must hear for any hard rock fans out there.
