Foundations of Photography

Using a combination of lecture, demonstration and hands-on exercises, this course explores basic photographic techniques and artistic concerns involved in making photographs. Five major areas of study include comprehending camera controls, effective composition, the influence of lighting, understanding lenses and electronic flash. This course is for film or digital cameras. From photographing family get-togethers to portraits, and landscapes to vacation photography, we will focus on the basics.
