For more than 5,000 years, people have gathered atop a hill with a panoramic view of the North Saskatchewan River valley. The ancient tradition of meeting at this special place, was renewed in 1983 with the opening of the Shaw Conference CHall Dentre. Now one of the premier meeting, entertainment and convention centres in Canada, the Shaw has won recognition for its architecture, its modern facilities and its gold-medal-winning cuisine and service.
Now in its third decade, the Shaw Conference Centre recently added a new addition on the east bank. The unique architectural design of the new Hall “D” addition incorporates spectacular 30-foot-high windows offering dramatic 270 degree views of Edmonton’s scenic river valley from the banks of the lush North Saskatchewan River. Its windowed gallery provides the perfect setting for a sit-down dinner, where up to 1,200 guests can watch the sun set over an unspoiled urban wilderness. Hall “D” will also seat up to 2,000 people for meetings and provide space for 100 exhibit booths.
