The American Tobacco Company's campus was once, as the name suggests, a Tobacco Factory for the American Tobacco Company, in it's day, it was one of the world's largest.
Today however, it is an amazing shopping executive, and entertainment facility; art galleries, restaurants, cafes, and bars surround a beautiful courtyard that's center is the amazing outdoor bandstand, wreathed in a pond, beneath the water tower. The campus is massive making it an ideal place for many of Durham's festivals and fairs.

I went to NC to visit my brother, and he took me here to eat pizza on one of the corner cafes. The place is absolutely amazing! Most notably, there's a stream that runs throughout the campus that adds life, movement, and tranquility to the areas bold industrial architecture. It's a nice place to be, and it's a really interesting place to walk around, if only to absorb the sense of change you feel seeing what use to be a place of mass production that's grown into a art colony/business park/shopping center. Makes me smile after seeing so many art colonies/business parks/shopping centers go the other way into stark lifeless factories...
