When direct observation is difficult, computer models allow astronomers to test their theoretical ideas about topics as diverse as the connection with particle physics, stellar evolution, the genesis of galaxies and clusters of galaxies or even the entire universe. Ultimately, these simulations must be connected back to observations in order to prove their worth! (Presenters: Caroline Hooper and Ben Smith)
