Paul Kelly - Stolen Apples Special Irish edition with bonus 14 track live disc Irish shows in August (more to announced) Friday 8th August – Button Factory, Dublin Saturday 9th August – Dolans, Limerick Sunday 10th August – Roisin Dubh, Galway From very early on in his career, Australian songwriter Paul Kelly has been recognised as one of the most significant singer/songwriters in his country. Inspired initially by the likes of Bob Dylan, Hank Williams, Lou Reed and Ray Davies, Kelly's narrative song writing is infused with wry observations, bittersweet emotions and enormous appeal. As well as issuing an enduring body of work with his own bands, Kelly has written film scores (Lantana and the Cannes 2006 highlight, Jindabyne), and produced albums for and written songs with some of Australia and New Zealand's finest artists. His most recent albums have included the Bluegrass inspired Foggy Highway, the extraordinary Tchad Blake produced Ways and Means, and his latest album Stolen Apples is now getting an Irish release complete with bonus live disc. His newest record “Stolen Apples”, is released in Ireland on July 25th, it is his first solo album after a series of creative collaborations over the last few years but it proves to be a collection as rich and rewarding as any of his previous works. With an ever-growing list of achievements under his belt, including the honour of being inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame, Paul’s book ‘Don't Start Me Talking: Lyrics 1984-2004’ has been included in the official reading list for VCE (Victorian Certificate of Education/HSC) students studying English (poetry section) for the second year running. Paul returns to the Ireland, the UK and Europe for the first time in two years, having just been lauded at South by South West, and having spent an incredibly busy festival season in Australia which included him performing on the Big Day Out nationally in Australia for the first time ever and playing to 50,000 at the opening of the Sydney Festival. www.paulkelly.com.au www.myspace.com/paulkellymusic
