Molly Abraham, Detroit News Restaurant Critic: The rebirth of the venerable seafood house is big news. Taking over the considerable space on the first level of the Renaissance Center's 400 Tower (once occupied by Seldom Blues), it is a collaboration between Joe Muer, grandsom of the founder of the restaurant that was on Gratiot at Vernor for 70 years, and Joe Vicari of the Andiamo Restaurant Group. It offers a wide menu of traditional and contemporary seafood dishes, from the stuffed flounder and Great Lakes whitefish of the original to bass with chimichurri glaze and pan-seared ahi tuna of the new. It also offers sushi and a few meat dishes including rack of lamb and prime ribeye steak in a beautiful setting with a river view through a wall of windows.
