Denver Film Society and Lighthouse Writers Workshop's screening of the film Housekeeping
The film, based on the novel by Marilynne Robinson, is set in the Pacific Northwest during the 1950s. Two young sisters—Ruth and Lucille—are abandoned by their mother and wind up living with their Aunt Sylvie, whose views of the world and its conventions don't quite live up the most people's expectations. Following the film, Lighthouse Writers Workshop's Terry Dodd will discuss the cinematic aspects of the novel, and what the director and lead actress bring to the film—a film of great pictures.
