Professional Scrum Foundations (PSF) is a rigorous two-day course offered to solidify the core principles of Scrum for individuals and/or teams. The course covers the complete Scrum Framework and how to keep your Scrum implementation healthy. The course is about 50% presentation, and 50% interactive exercises -- which keeps the class lively, interesting, and even entertaining at times! Common missteps in the adoption of Scrum have been seen over and over again across industries, companies, and teams. Rather than coaching teams back from a poorly functioning Scrum implementation, this class exposes these common missteps, increases the awareness of the associated symptoms, and provides helpful guidance to avoid going off track in the first place! While the course is not an exam prep course per se, the material and exercises strongly supports the optional Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I) certification assessment. The instructor will also give some tips on how to best prepare for the assessment.
AUDIENCE : PSF is appropriate for anyone working on, or with, Scrum Teams. The course is especially well suited to companies, teams, or individuals investigating Scrum, those who are currently struggling with Scrum, or those beginning to utilize Scrum in their development environment. No technical skills are necessary for the course. If you can use a word processor, then you are technically savvy enough to take this course!
Certification (optional): This class prepares students to do Scrum, as well as be certified in the industry. This class includes one free attempt at the assessment for the industry respected Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I) certification.
LOGISTICS : 8:30am-5pm both days, bring your Wi-Fi capable laptop. An iPad/tablet will work, but it is strongly preferred that you bring a laptop instead. No technical skills are required, other than being able to edit a word processing document.
