Playground Ensemble: Decades

Many of the Playground’s favorite composers have milestone birthdays in the year
2013. We have selected some of the best chamber music by these composers to
create a diverse and intriguing concert. We present compelling guitar music by
Maurice Ohana, beautiful vocal music by Ned Rorem, a miniature string quartet
by Brian Ferneyhough, Krzysztof Penderecki’s charming clarinet quartet, and the
unique blend of Chinese and Western musical traditions that Chen Yi creates in her
quartet Qi.
