Jackie Reeves: Yesterday Was Today
Many of these collages and paintings were produced during the summer, when life is lived at a more relaxed pace. In contrast to Reeves’ larger paintings, which often require much editing and reworking, these works happened in a state of flow, when a lifetime of drawing, designing, and painting comes together in a moment of creation. The result is a body of work that is fresh, direct, and spontaneous, revealing things that are hidden or subconscious, beyond the reach of rational thinking.
