Earnestine Keaton, local historian- The African-Americans Experience Along the Cape Fear- 1726-1870

Keaton has pieced together a history with colorful characters that begins in colonial times with her slave ancestors at Grange Farm and Revolutionary War General Robert Howe, and continues at Lloyd Plantation and State Senator Salter Lloyd. It ends with Rev. Richard Keaton and the Black Missionary Baptist Movement in SENC
