While the Ocean Institute in Dana Point is closed to the general public on weekdays as it offers a wide array of marine science and maritime history programs to school children, it opens its doors to the general public on weekends, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Enjoy ocean-themed exhibits, hundreds of marine animals, activities for children and on most Sundays tour the tall ship Pilgrim.
Unique maritime and ocean-themed items are available in the Chambers Gallery everyday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
