(650) 992-7462 - Website

Daiso offers around 90,000 products, nearly all of which are original products developed by Daiso through repeated trial manufacture with customer satisfaction uppermost in mind.

The Japanese are renowned throughout the world for the importance they attach to price, quality and design. Goods that sell well one year do not sell the next. Shops that lack innovativeness soon lose their popularity. In this severe environment, Daiso has nevertheless achieved remarkable growth. With "hyakkin" now a popular expression, Daiso accounts for an overwhelming share of the growing 100 yen shop market.

In the US, Daiso offers products that are $1.50 USD. Almost everything in the store is $1.50. Products range from snack and food items, stationery, pots and pans to toilet bowl covers. Daiso has prodcuts that fit any household needs.

Almost like a dollar store

Most of the items at the store are $1.50, some items are less (mostly the candy) and some are more expensive(purses, oversized containers, some photo frames, etc).

I really enjoy this store because they have a lot of Japanese goods that I have trouble finding elsewhere such as stationery (for a resonable price!), stickers, special cooking utensils and Japanese dishware.

They're opening a lot of U.S. stores lately, there are locations in San Diego, Newark/Fremont area, and Mountain View. Although some of the other stores are actually larger and offer more products than the Serramonte store, I still like the Serramonte store the best. I think it's a lot better because of the store layout. The aisles are easy to navigate and the cashier area and bagging area is very efficient.

I almost forgot to mention, you have to bag your own items at Daiso.
