Course Summary:
Prosthodontics has changed in a way that few envisioned. Changing technology and patient care trends have expanded our scope of patient therapy. The result has been that our practices and patient care alternatives have become more diverse and complex.
The presentation will consider how critical diagnostic and prognostic considerations have changed and must guide… Show more our treatment planning and care. The secrets of realizing best practice outcomes via a restorative driven philosophy will be shared.
Implant supported and conventional therapy will be covered, as well as the role of advanced digital technologies such as 3D Imaging, 3D Planning, 3D Guided Therapy, and fabrication of digitally directed restorations. Restorative materials including ceramics will be addressed and a rationale for selection/utilization presented.

Steve Campbell, DDS, MS:
Dr. Stephen D. Campbell received his D.D.S. from the Medical College of Virginia. He completed an Advanced Program in Prosthodontics at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and a Master of Medical Science Degree with a biomaterials focus at Harvard University in conjunction with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Dr. Campbell is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and is active in several dental organizations. He is Past-President of the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP), American Board of Prosthodontics, Academy of Prosthodontics, American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics (AAFP), Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics, and the International Association of Dental Research Prosthodontics Section. He is also the recent past-Chair of the ACP Education Foundation. In addition, Dr. Campbell has been very active in issues pertaining to diagnostic coding for practice and dental accreditation. Dr. Campbell has been appointed Prosthodontic Commissioner to the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
Dr. Campbell has been recognized with the AAFP George H. Moulton Award, as well as the ACP Educator of the Year and Dan Gordon Lifetime Achievement Awards. The UIC Implant Team was recently (2011) recognized with the ADEA/Zimmer Dental Implant Education Teaching Award, given once every two years.
Dr. Campbell has extensive clinical experience, having spent much of his time providing patient care. Dr. Campbell is currently Professor and Head of the Department of Restorative Dentistry and serves as Director of the Implant and Innovations Center at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He has been active in dental research throughout his career having been the principal investigator for several NIH grants dealing with ceramics.

Dr. Jesse T. Bullard The Department of Restorative Sciences created a special lectureship in conjunction with the 100 th year Centennial Celebration of Baylor College of Dentistry, the Jesse T. Bullard Lectureship in Prosthodontics and Implant Dentistry.
This Lectureship honors Dr. Jesse T. Bullard, Professor Emeritus, Department of Restorative Sciences at Baylor College of Dentistry. Prior to joining the faculty at Baylor, Dr. Bullard enjoyed a distinguished career in the U.S. Army Dental Corps. Dr. Bullard began his career at Baylor in 1970 and served as chairman of the Department of Operative Dentistry from 1973-1992. He developed the first residency program in fixed prosthodontics at Baylor College of Dentistry and oversaw curriculum advancements in operative dentistry. Dr. Bullard subsequently served as the first Chairman of the Department of Restorative Sciences, encompassing the disciplines of operative dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics, until his retirement in 1995. He has served as President of the Federation of Prosthodontic Organizations and the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics. As an educator and Prosthodontist, Dr. Bullard has had significant influence on the art and science of prosthodontics throughout the world.

Objectives of the lectureship are:
1. To invite internationally renowned experts in Prosthodontics and Implant Dentistry as presenters at the Dr. Jesse T. Bullard Lecture for Baylor College of Dentistry and the dental community annually on the last week of April/first week of May.
2. To provide a discussion forum on current topics in prosthodontics on the day prior to the formal lecture for Graduate Prosthodontic residents at Baylor and other invited residency programs.
3. To serve as an event that will encourage Graduate Prosthodontic
Alumni to return for this special annual lecture series.
4. To provide a continuing education program in Prosthodontics and Implant Dentistry as a service to the student, faculty and interested members of the dental and laboratory communities.
5. To improve the standard of care for our patients by increasing the knowledge base in prosthodontics and implant dentistry.
Dr. Ronald D. Woody is Professor & Director of Implant Dentistry and previous Director of Graduate Prosthodontics at Baylor College of Dentistry. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and received his dental degree in 1963 from Marquette University School of Dentistry. He is the creator and organizer of the Jesse T. Bullard Conference. His vision for the conference is to encourage Baylor Prosthdontic Alumni and Friends to return to BCD for life long learning which will foster excellence in patient care.
His postgraduate work included an Internship at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Graduate Studies in Oral Biology at Georgetown University, Residency in Prosthodontics at Letterman Army Medical Center, Post Doctoral Fellowship in Biomaterials, NIH, & Post Doctoral Fellowship in Electron Microscopy, U.S. Army Institute of Dental Research. He is a fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists and a fellow of the American and International College of Dentists. Dr. Woody has published numerous journal articles, abstracts & presented over 200 seminars in the U.S. and worldwide.
