Meadows Museum Dallas, TX

Evening lectures are free and open to the public, no

Priority seating for members until 5:40 p.m. In the first century CE, the funeral for Felix, a charioteer of the Red team, made headlines when one of his fans immolated himself on his favorite’s funeral pyre. Sinclair Bell, Associate Professor of Art History at Northern Illinois University will read his paper on how the sports fan can enlighten us in new ways about the centrality of the Circus to Roman culture.
