Dental Implant Restoration Workshop: Component Systems, Single Site Restoration, Provisionalization - Saturday, December 8, 2012 for dentists

This systematic and step-wise hands-on program is designed for clinical dentists and will cover scientifically-based techniques, tips and tricks in the restoration of dental implants. A predictable and consistent approach to ideal esthetic treatment of the single tooth implant will be presented. Additional topics discussed will cover cemented vs. screw-retained restorations, ideal occlusal schemes and adjustment for implant dentistry, and single vs. splinted restorations. Drs. Higginbottom and Woody will take you through the process of restoring dental implants on typodonts and models for optimal esthetic success. The speakers will utilize videos, demonstrations, and hands-on procedures to solidify all concepts presented. At the completion of this presentation, the practitioner will have a thorough understanding of the basics of dental implant restorative procedures.
Course Presenters:
Dr. Thomas G. Wilson received his DDS degree from the University of Tennessee School of Dentistry in 1971 and his Certificate in Periodontics in 1974 from the University of Washington. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and serves as a Clinical Associate Professor at Baylor College of Dentistry and UTHSC-San Antonio. He has lectured extensively on an international level, is the author of numerous journal articles and textbooks, and is a recognized expert in the field of implant surgical placement.
Dr. Frank L. Higginbottom earned his B.S. degree from the University of Oklahoma. He continued his studies at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas. He graduated with honors in 1971, winning the silver medal for Academic and Clinical Excellence, and is actively involved in clinical dental education and research. He lectures nationally and internationally on Esthetic Dentistry and Dental Implants. He holds faculty positions at two Texas dental schools. At Baylor College of Dentistry, he is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Departments of Oral Surgery and Prosthodontics. He has made a commitment to work with dental residents in Baylor's clinic and is on the faculty at University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Dr. Higginbottom has participated in clinical research projects and has had numerous articles published in the dental literature.
Dr. Ronald D. Woody is Professor & Director of Implant Dentistry and previous Director of Graduate Prosthodontics at Baylor College of Dentistry. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and received his dental degree in 1963 from Marquette University School of Dentistry. His postgraduate work included an Internship at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Graduate Studies in Oral Biology at Georgetown University, Residency in Prosthodontics at Letterman Army Medical Center, Post Doctoral Fellowship in Biomaterials, NIH, & Post Doctoral Fellowship in Electron Microscopy, U.S. Army Institute of Dental Research. He is a fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists and a fellow of the American and International College of Dentists. He has published numerous journal articles, abstracts & presented over 200 seminars in the U.S. and worldwide.
