Masuma Rasheed, Ph.D. is an experienced licensed professional counselor in addition to a LifeForce Yoga® Practitioner. Leanora (Leo) Leavell is a registered yoga therapist and skilled fitness trainer.  It is said that the highest spiritual practice is self observation without judgment. In fact, compassionate self-awareness is a pillar of yogic practice, just as it is in counseling. Therefore, Dr. Rasheed and Leanora (Leo) Leavell Ryt have cultivated a unique and innovative workshop combining the two elements in their ‘Yoga + Counseling’ Workshop.
The goal of this workshop is to combine the use of your mind and body in order to learn skills on how to manage:
Stress
Poor Concentration
Exhaustion
Anxiety
Feeling Overwhelmed/Pressure
Frustration
The first half of the workshop will implement a yoga flow intentionally designed to work with elevating the mood. The second half of the workshop will be a group process to reflect upon the yoga flow. Throughout the workshop, elements of LifeForce Yoga® will be used; this yoga practice is supported by evidence-based research in psycho-neurobiology to assist in clearing away barriers such as obstructing beliefs, emotional limitations, and tension.
In this workshop, you will learn the following:
Learn specific breath work and body postures intentionally designed to reduce stress, exhaustion, anxiety, lethargy; and, therefore, elevate the mood.
Gain skills and techniques to change old thinking patterns and to balance energy and mood.
Learn therapeutic counseling + yoga techniques to increase your insight, self-acceptance, self-esteem, and ability to cope.Â
Shift new self-discipline, self-acceptance, and confidence "off the mat" and into daily routines.

This workshop provides a fun experience where you will learn more about yourself, experience cohesion with other individuals in the community, and learn techniques to handle daily stressors.
Optional suggestive materials to bring include: water bottle & towel.
