“Rising Up: Hale Woodruff’s Murals at Talladega College” features the murals of Hale Aspacio Woodruff whose works have been on display since 1938 at the college's Savery Library in Talladega, Ala. Woodruff was commissioned in 1938 to do the murals to commemorate the 1867 founding of the college and celebrate its success as one of the nation’s first all-black colleges. The High Museum of Art in Atlanta collaborated with the college to restore, research and exhibit the renowned murals.
