The Sleeping Beauty, a Texas Ballet Theater Presentation
This fairytale springs to the stage in Ben Stevenson’s magical production. The King and Queen host a magnificent party to christen their beautiful new baby, Princess Aurora. Upset by not being invited to the affair, Carabosse, an evil fairy, curses the child to die on her sixteenth birthday when pricked by a needle. Lisa Kaczmarek is originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, where she did her much of her ballet training with Mimi Priest at Jordan College Academy of Dance. Before joining Texas Ballet Theater in 2007, she danced with both Washington Ballet (1997-1999) and Houston Ballet (1999-2007), where she enjoyed dancing a wide range of classical and contemporary roles....
Carolyn Judson moved to Texas from Sacramento, California to Houston, TX in 2001 to train with Houston Ballet’s Ben Stevenson Academy. She joined Texas Ballet Theater in 2003 where she has been featured in the title roles of Ben Stevenson's Romeo and Juliet, Cinderella, The Sleeping Beauty, and Cleopatra as well as performed the principal role of “Odette/Odile” in Swan Lake....
Originally from California, Lucas Priolo began dancing as a way to stay fit for playing baseball. He discovered a love of dance and trained at Dance Theatre Seven before joining Houston Ballet....
