Introductory Geocaching Family Hike

This fun and interactive outing is great for families and children (who can hike for 3 to 4 miles). Join docents Bill Overall and REI Outdoor School instructor Chris Green to search for "geocaches," or hidden treasures, using GPS units supplied by REI (or you can bring your own units). From the intersection of I-280 and Foothill Expressway, go 3.5 miles southwest (toward the mountains) on Foothill Boulevard/Stevens Canyon Road. Turn right on Montebello Road. The preserve is 0.5 miles up Montebello Rd. on the left. Reservations can be made on-line or by calling the activity reservation line at (650) 691-2150 (enter Option 2).
