Directed by world-renown dancer and OCC faculty member, Angelika Nemeth, this sixty-minute concert celebrating colorful movements and rituals from various parts of the globe, will feature a multicultural cast of over 40 dancers consisting of the highly respected OCC dance and music faculty plus selectively trained student dancers from the college’s Performing Dance Ensemble Class. The concert highlights Bharata Natyam and Mohiniyattam from Southern India, Bandari from Iran, Raqs Al Assaya and Raqs Sharqi from Egypt, and Flamenco from Spain, plus Latin dance styles, African drumming and songs from around the word, all accompanied by an entertaining narrative by OCC Music Department Chair, Dr. Ric Soto.
