4th Annual West Coast Rockabilly Showdown

The West Coast Rockabilly Showdown, now in its 4th year at the Orange County Market Place in Costa Mesa was developed to provide a forum for today’s emerging rockabilly bands to be readily seen and heard.

Hosted by Karling Abbeygate, the lead vocalist in her own rockabilly band “Karling”, the Showdown features 12 unsigned and independent label bands, selected from electronic audition, competing for cash awards totaling $2,500. Bands selected to be announced at a later date.

Each perform at… Show more one of the four qualifying rounds held Saturdays, June 1,8, 15 and 22 and the winners from each round will now compete in the finals on Saturday, June 29, beginning at noon.

June 1: WINNER: The Buzz Jumpers

June 8 : WINNER: The Altar Billies

June 15 : WINNER: The Rayford Brothers



June 22
Noon :The Johnny Deadly Trio
1 pm: Lazy Lance & The Longhorns
2 pm: The Hula Girls

The top four bands will be vying for the first place cash award of $1,000. The second place finisher wins $750; third place wins $500 and third place $250.

Judging criteria includes musicianship, showmanship, song selections and audience response.

The Showdown is held in conjunction with the 5th Annual Spring Concert Series. Regular admission is $2 and children 12 and under are always free.
