Presented by the OCC Friends of the Library at the OCC Library Community Room. More than 2,000 earthen monuments are scattered from southern Ohio westward to the Mississippi River. Who built them and why? Some of these mounds are nearly 2,800 years old. They hold a special interest for Orange Coast College anthropology professor Bill Breece, who spent his sabbatical studying their structure and the significance they had to the Adena, Hopewell, and Mississippian Indians who built them.
