Karizma boutique is a good excuse as any to make a pit stop along the bustling highway in Corona del Mar.
Upon entering the wood-floored shop, there’s no missing the spread of supple leather handbags out front and center. Butter-soft lambskin bags by Kooba, Bugla and Botkier come in pretty hues like seafoam, lemon and plum — most with subtle hardware trim and priced at $450-$650.
My friend Jenn admired the soft, slinky jersey-knits by L.A. designer Rachel Pally while I made a beeline for some of the Anna Sui offerings: A sort of doily-like scoop neck tunic and a darling striped dress with delicate cap sleeves.
Denim like Rock&Republic and James Jeans came folded in stacks on a back shelf while colorful and eclectic clutches by Carlos Falchi beckoned from another shelf. Over on the shoe table, I spied a fetching pair of Lulu Guiness espadrille wedges with a black and white floral print.
